LIKE BRANCHES ON A TREE, WE ALL GROW IN DIFFERENT
DIRECTIONS YET OUR ROOTS REMAIN AS ONE.
Researching your ancestors
Although challenging and very often time consuming, it is always incredibly rewarding to research and discover your family roots. Not everyone is fortunate enough to have their own extensive library of family records, so to enable you to find out who your numerous ancestors were, it is essential and necessary to search other resources. If you know where to look and how to explore the various public records and documents that are available, you can if you are lucky, find enough information to breathe life into your ancestors and put 'flesh on the bones'. Every time you discover a new ancestor or another family line, you create new branches and leaves to allow your family tree to grow and flourish.
It is thrilling to find out if you descend from a once wealthy family or maybe even a criminal who was transported, whether your ancestors were rich or poor, infamous for some misdemeanour or had carried out something of note and became inspirational to other people. Whoever they were or whatever they did they are part of you and it is fascinating to explore the different lives they led.
